California Ballot Measures Database: The Hastings Law Library at the University of California is providing a searchable database to access sources of information on California ballot propositions and initiatives from 1911 to 2000. The databases contain the full text of the documents.


California Counties: This site provides links to all of California's County web sites.


California Courts: This site provides information on court administration, jury information, legal forms and other information provided by the Judicial Council of California.


California Geoportal: The California Department of Technology has provided this interactive Geoportal that integrates existing GIS software with a geography based search capability. Map galleries and a learning center facilitate access to geographic data information.


California Government Documents: The Librarians at the Santa Clara University Library have provided a list of electronic resources related to California Government Documents.


California Law: California Law consists of 29 codes, covering various subject areas, the State Constitution and Statutes. Information presented reflects laws currently in effect. All California Codes have been updated to include the 2006 Statutes.


California State and Local Government : Periodical titles indexed on the Web selected by the Library of Congress. Back issues are available in full-text, current issues may be abstracts only, requiring purchase of the full-text article.

Association of Bay Area Governments : Website of "the official comprehensive planning agency for the San Francisco Bay region, ABAG's mission is to strengthen cooperation and coordination among local governments."


Ballot Propositions, California: Background, Proposals, and fiscal effects information for current ballot propositions, provided by the Legislative Analyst's Office.


California Council on Science and Technology: Has a mission to improve science and technology policy and application in California by proposing programs, conducting analyses, and helping government implement policies and initiatives for a better economy and quality of life.


California Energy Policy: Information on Energy Policies from the California Energy Commission. Links in the left-hand column will take you to previous Inegrated Energy Policy Reports (IEPRs). Refer to the latest-adopted IEPR listed in the left-hand column for full information and materials on energy policies. The calendar links in the right-hand column will take you activities under the current IEPR proceeding.

California State Assembly: The website for the California State Assembly offers you the ability to find your district, view legislative deadlines, and links to the democratic and republican caucuses as well as other caucuses.


California State Association of Counties: The primary purpose of CSAC is to represent county governments before the California Legislature, administrative agencies and the federal government.


California State Budget: The Department of Finance maintains the most current PDF for the latest version of the California State Budget. This site includes summaries of the Governor's Proposed Budget, Revised Budget and Enacted Budget. A detailed PDF is available in a printable download.


California State Senate: The official site of the California State Senate, with information about senators, commitees, legislation and district maps.


California Statistical Abstract: This is the 48th edition of the California Statistical Abstract, a compilation of data on social, economic, and physical aspects of the State. The volume is a cooperative effort of various government agencies, coordinated and issued annually by the California Department of Finance, Economic Research Unit. It is available for download in Excel and PDF formats.

Initiative and Referendum Institute: Ballotwatch, sponsored by the IRI at the University of Southern California, is a "report highlighting key issues and providing a state-by-state list all of ballot measures. This report will be updated periodically as new measures qualify for the ballot."


League of California Cities: "The League of California Cities is an association of California city officials who work together to enhance their knowledge and skills, exchange information, and combine resources so that they may influence policy decisions that affect cities."


League of Women Voters of California: The Voter's Service Division of the LWV provides nonpartisan information about elections, the voting process, and ballot issues.


Locating the Law: Presented by the Public Access to Legal Information (PALI) Committee, this newly revised 5th edition of Locating the Law provides information on legal advice and legal research techniques. The full text of the book is provided free of charge.
