The first page of the test describes the testing rules; you must sign this page before you begin the test.  The last page of the test is blank and is intended for you to use it as scratch if you wish.  You will be graded on the work that is shown on your test.

Orientation:

An in-person orientation is mandatory.  You may attend either Monday, 8/22/11 at 12:30 pm or Wednesday, 8/24/11 at 6:30 pm.  Both orientations will be held at FLC in FL3-173. Watch your email - you will receive an email from your instructor with instructions on how to opt out of the mandatory orientation in mid August.

Pre-Requisite Information:

Math 30         Completion of Math 20 with a C or better or placement via the assessment process

Math 100       Completion of Math 30 with a C or better or placement via the assessment process

Math 120       Completion of Math 100 with a C or better or placement via the assessment process

Please bring proof of your pre-requisite with you to your orientation or, if possible, email proof to your instructor.  If you satisfied the pre-requisite by taking a math class in the Los Rios district (ARC, SCC, CRC, or FLC), you can show an (unofficial) transcript with a grade of C or better.  If you satisfied the pre-requisite by taking an assessment test at CRC, SCC or FLC, you can show the page with your placement listed that you received from the assessment personnel.  We do not accept self-assessment placements from ARC.

If you have taken a college math class outside of the Los Rios district, please consult the math department website for further information about how to proceed.  If you have never taken a math class in college, please take an assessment exam at FLC.

Textbook Information:

The textbooks used in the online math classes are listed below.  Online access to MyMathLab (available for purchase at www.coursecompass.com or free with the purchase of a new textbook) is the only thing that is required for the course. A textbook is not required.  However, there is information in the textbook that you are expected to know that will not be explicitly covered in the online assignments. There is an e-copy of the textbook embedded in the MyMathLab so you can access a book electronically without buying one. More details will be given at orientation
